Don't know much about Werner xcept they use paperless logs which for many would be a turn off. USA deducts $45 per week for 1 yr for school. Any amount overpaid and you get a check back for the difference.
panhandlepat Thanks this. -
im not sure why you would settle for either of the of the 2, theres many companies that would hire students,
the you mentioned are 2 i wouldnt work for, just based on the equipment that usa has, and paperless logs at werener,
the pros of both are you will get driving exp. at both of them, and better your self for a better company, as many people call it,
werener is a " bottem feeder, the only thing werner cares about is getting you in their school so they can make money off of you. thats all, they dont care anything about you, go talk to any werner driver and they will tell you that, well, maybe not all of them, but 99.9999% will.
usa has some of the nastiest trucks out here, that i have seen, most of them are rather old, looks like it has never been through a truck wash, tho im seeing more and more new internationals in the usa fleet. but as i said, most are old, small little sleeper,
many companies are out here that will hire you, you just need to take the time and research other companies, prime, england, interstate, watkin shepard, swift, even tho u hear bad about them all the time, swift gets you home often, they pay a bit more, and they have mostly new trucks, -
I'm not sure where your looking... But most of the USA trucks I see are the new Prostar Internationals. The older 9400 Internationals are just like every other truck running down the road... 70" bunk & all. I will agree that they should be washed a little more option but please remember that the plain Jane white paint gets dirty a lot quicker... and when you have all the other companies blowing past you on the road raising dust, dirt, trash, & water spray.... What is the sense of washing the truck anymore? -
USA.... Old trucks ???? whats old. Usa is upgrading there trucks all the time. Just like everyone else. They rotate there trucks after 500000 miles. thats about every 18 months. So My advice to you is to do what I did. Do alot of reserchs and go with ur gut. I am attending driver solution july 20th 2009. And after my class I am going with USA truck. Yes it is an entry level company. Im not going to get ritch the first year, maybe not even the second, or ever. But they are a company that is willing to put time and money into me in return for time on the road and commitment. Alot of companies out there require at least 1 year of driving experince. At least in my area. So for me. My gut tells me to take this rout. Hope I dont end up with the poops. lol

maybe i am mistaken, but USA is the white truck, with the blue USA(start) Trucking right?
but please note that i said i am seeing more and more of the new ones out there,
does usa pay to have the trucks wased?
i no some companies dont pay, and i think one company wants it washed once a month but the driver HAS to pay.... -
they have 2 truckwashes. one in W memphis and one in shreveport at the terminals. WHEN THEY ARE OPEN they barely get the bugs off the windshield -
I don't know about their washes...
