Certain Groups of people go to "Free" Hospitals for emergencies (Like old Cook County hospital)
Others..That Have no Insurance will Be Seen and Treated-Then Released- Family That Meet them at Hospital Will Tell them to NEVER Give a Social Security Number to hospital Billing, And Even Used Fake Names and Addresses....... So Not to get a Bill -
We had a level two hospital in jacksonville off 67 got buried by 15 million in patient debt that was not paid back. The bank called in the note on the property and building due and payable, which was around 9 million in value.
They closed the hospital entirely, permanently and handed title to the bank to walk away from the 15 million problem. I suppose under our laws if the revelant collectors can locate the previous patients to hound for collections up to 15 years post service bill date.PE_T and stayinback Thank this. -

I don't get asked much anymore my hosptial has accumulated enough information to essentially say where is the owie? Oh ok, give us one moment you will feel better in a minute. *Needle
Done. Next. While the vamps draw a tray ful of blood with a gallon or so out of me.
Moral of the story, if you have a GOOD hospital stay with them.PE_T Thanks this. -
With your expertise what do you think about morning liquor and drugs? You can save a ton of money by sharing needles from what I hear lol.PE_T Thanks this.

eh.
Go out of state to get currently banned alcohol, Tennessee comes to mind as does Kentucky. (Lawful behavior even in a dry county since it strictly goes to your cabinet)
I always chase the nursing staff over the needles. I hate the #### things. I make them put in a 30 dollar butterfly with the flexible penetration that goes into the vein. Then they can stick into that all the needles they want. Stick stick stick.
The last time one nurse gave me a very big stick, another stuck me before Ive finished working a decision to slug her or not. That was worth a little nap and some apologies. Did I tell them I hate needles? knives no problem. But #### the needles.PE_T Thanks this. -
Medical bills cause more bankruptcies than fleece purchases.
Opendeckin, PE_T, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Especially when there is nothing regulating those. They can hound you to the ends of the earth along with taking your property etc.
Vs say a credit card collector. There are laws regulating those.Medical debt is a very dangerous problem.
The worst of it? Most everyone carted to flown to a hospital did not ask to be there or billed so much. They do NOT want it.PE_T Thanks this. -
I'm 36 single non smoker and pay $360 a month in Indiana... That includes vision and dental...
I guess mines not to bad then compared to Florida.
I've had the same thoughts as @PE_Trans and saying heck with it and just stop paying it... Maybe I'll keep it now.Dino soar, Midwest Trucker, PE_T and 1 other person Thank this.
