I had a friend that worked for crete awhile back. She quit after about a month. It was last summer. 85 degrees out and she wanted her air to work, but the truck kept cutting off and on while she was sleeping, but it never cooled off the truck enough to sleep. Are their trucks still like that?

My truck is very well maintained, if I think the AC is getting a little weak, I have a shop check it out. I have an 05 Freightliner, I never knew it til I was at our Kansas City terminal and talking to another driver, that there was an air filter behind the dash. Mine was plugged solid and changing it made a world of difference.
What's your friend doing now? If she couldn't take a month at Crete, it makes me wonder.

She went back to school for nursing. Had been driving for about 10 years and probably just got burned out. She lasted longer then most drivers do.

Here's a post for you ET. I never get out west. I snuck home the other day, so I'm good for my hometime. If I put in for time off in Phoenix and drop the truck at the yard and rent a car. I figure a day and night in Vegas, a day for looking at the Dam. What else is out there to see? I figure 5 or 6 days off.

I have no ideal. I live in Indiana, and I think freight is slow there. So I stay out about 6 weeks and take off as long as I feel like. I never heard anything from anybody. Sounds like ET takes off a couple of days and they call him, begging him to get back to work. One of these days I'll give Crete my phone number, NOT.

It hasn't been that generous for quite sometime. It is currently 1 day off for every seven out for a maximum of 4 days. You stay out for 6 months you are only entitled to 4 days. Terminal managers have some discretion on this issue.
