I need to know everything and anything possible about Qualcomm.

How do you know it is being tracked?

    Any manuals available online?

    Links?

They have to keep the records on them for 6 months.

If they are on, they are capable of being tracked. It does not mean the company actually tracks them. Some do, others do not.

Do you feel the management will be eager to pursue?

Or will they work to hide it?

Qualcomm is satellite communication between the truck & your home terminals. It is being tracked... Your speed, your route, the amount of times you applied the brake, engine rpms, idle time... Everything is being tracked. Look at Werner... They use Qualcomm for log books.

Plus if you abandoned the truck they can pinpoint the location of the vehicle within a block or 2 radius.

Evidence for what? None of my business, I'm sure. But if your a driver & have a beef with another driver... There is nothing that you can really do except for man up & go your seperate way. The qualcomm records won't be available to you unless this becomes a legal action. Then they will only become available to you by court order.

If FMCSA becomes involved it will be their business no problem.

If upper managment becomes involved, it could be their business as well. i don't nessesarily need to see the records myself.

What i want to know is how do you know if the truck is being tracked or not. As far as i can tell the qualcomm is "on." You can see lettering in the screen if you push some buttons.

i'm not sure if managment will pursue to the degree i want them to pursue. i know obviously they don't want HOS violations which are happening blatently. But i don't know if they will take the violators "out of the picture." completely.

You'll have to guess why i have a legitimate "beef" against another driver as i don't want to reveal too much at this point. And the "beef" IS legitimate.

Does the company know what the idle is?

    Is it a large company?

I know you do not want to mention the company, but think it over.

If it is one of the large discussed on this forum, then you will be able to know this for sure.

If it is a smaller company, most of them check as well.

The really small companies that tend to run really hard or illegal, most do not even look at it.

Yes, the company knows and tracks idle. They are getting very sticky about this lately. They mentioned this at the last driver's meeting. People from the head office came in to talk.

The problem is the trucks in question are daycabs, which also have qualcomm. i'm just not real sure if the company cares about these as well. i think they do as they said they were going to calculate mpg on give bonuses on that.

We're not mega, but were big enough. Pretty well known.

Why are you trying to get someone else in trouble?Does it really concern you?:biggrin_2553:
Let the person in question do there own thing and don't worry about it.

And the Qcomm is on all the time tracking nothing you can do about it unless it is disconnected or the dome is covered with something like foil to block the signal.
The dome also holds 2 weeks worth of info on it.

    REDD Thanks this.
