That happened at a Love's in Arkanasas. I-40, exit 233, I think. It happened about 5 or 6 years ago, and the driver hopped back in his truck and drove off like nothing happened. Think they caught up with him up north somewhere, Chicago maybe?
Details are fuzzy, but I remember it happening. -
After searching and searching and not finding anything to support my earlier claim of a driver shooting another driver, I will withdraw my earlier post of that shooting.
However, in 2007, there was a driver from San Antonio stabbed another driver for an incident on the Interstate. I did find article supporting that, so I may have been mistaken.
Sorry about that. -
Have you heard of "Jasons Law"...month before last issue of LandLine magazine. (and that is only one example)
There have been hundreds (probably thousands) of drivers killed over the years that would have had a better chance if they had been armed.
Take me for instance...last year at a TA near Dalton, GA. Some guy came in my truck on me while I was trying to enjoy my breakfast. Nobody got shot because he was extremely cooperative after he turned to see that 45 pointed at his head...but without the pistol it may have ended very differently. -

found this else where lots of fun little facts for the gun grabbers that we have here and well the numbers just dont lie. Its not geared towards CMV but firearm ownership in general, its a little long but a good read none the lessRed Fox Thanks this. -
So only the ones who are able to pass all of the government background and training tests to get a license to legally carry a concealed weapon should be allowed to legally carry a concealed weapon? Makes sense, guess thats why you have to pass all of the tests and background checks

Ask probably 99% of cops in the United States and they will tell you why they strongly support concealed carry licenses for qualified, legal citizens.
Doesn't matter whether you drive a truck for a living, work in a high rise building in any downtown metroplex or you are a soccer mom shopping at the local grocery store. Everyone is a potential victim of violent crime, anywhere. I carry full coverage car insurance, not because I intend to have a wreck that damages not only my vehicle, but also the vehicles of other drivers as well as injures me and others and damages property...but because I want to be protected if that ever does happen. I have good health insurance but do not intend to be swarmed by bees, lose a finger, have a heart attack or cancer or fall off my roof and break half a dozen bones...I have it incase any of those things, or many other injuries/illnesses occur. Why carry a gun? Because even the smallest cop is too heavy to carry around. Besides, he/she probably has other things to do besides protect me 24/7. -
Jason's law is based after that murder on I-26 in South Carolina. The first news quote I put up in that post.
It was a robbery... The robbers got $7.00, killed him & split. Should of checked his other pockets. He had $400.00 cash in the opposite pocket that they never got. -
Now they'll burn in Hell and STILL be broke. Good.

There was some House debate this past week about a provision slipped into a bill which would prohibit the interstate transportation of a weapon (handgun). The Gent who was debating against the provision specifically cited how it would leave OTR drivers vulnerable and defenseless.
I'll try to find the Congressional Record on it and post it.
Here's the article from AP
