I know I said I wouldn't post here again but.....
    Congrats Ford.

And and FYI.....in Phoenix, we were told no alcohol at any time...even home time. One never knows when a screen will happen.

Enjoy just as much with a Diet Pepsi!

Best to you in any case.

I know I am still a newbie, but when you are on your OFF time you can enjoy a cervesa or 2. Now if I was on a 10 hour break, I would say no way but this is a little different! I am not reporting back on duty for 11 days...

Ford, This has been an excellent thread! I have learned sooo much just from reading yours, as well as others, posts. I especially like the links that show the routes you drove. Congratulations, on passing your tests and getting your CDL! I now have a different perspective on Swift Training Academy, you could say I've done an almost 180 degree turn around on my views. Before hand I was heavily influenced by all the negativity that I've read on these forums. I suppose in the end it's really dependant upon the amount of effort a student puts forth. You put forth the time and the effort and it paid off. I look forward to reading more as you journey onward to orientation and the eventual job. Please continue to keep us all updated as you progress...Thanks. ---K---

Thanks for your comments. One thing I will say is that I have made every effort to post actual facts that I have experienced first hand in this thread. I know that my experience is typical of the academy here in Lewiston Idaho. I can't say that the other schools are the same, but I do know that the company has put together a very respectable program. As has been said many times here, one experience may be different than another. I do know for sure that any student will get exactly what they put into this training.

Hey Ford...congraatulations on a job very well done...I think you are right when you note that you got a better overall experience with the instructor you had...might have made your perception of road driving a bit more accurate.

Go get your beer, maybe a six pack since orientation doesn't start till ten days out...2-3 days of no alcohol should be fine as you know you are going to get a request to put the yellow warm liquid in the semi clear plastic cup at orientation. While you are home...remember to get a designated driver..wives are good for that, no point wasting drinking energy walking from chair to fridge and back to chair...sit back and relax and just holler...HEY WOMAN, BRING ME ANOTHER BEER...THIS TIME BRING IT TOPLESS BABY!

Again, great job at school and with this thread, hoping the orientation and mentor threads are going to be as accurate! congratulations!
