Jones Bros. Trucking in Missoula, Montana.
I remember a couple years ago they hired a North Carolina driver right out of cdl school.
    Website shows a refresher course.

You are a American Long Haul Trucker. Appt times can and will be anywhere on day or night at any time. Don't worry about it. Whatever you can do legally after trip planning etc is the appt time you require from dispatch. Anything earlier is a problem that will need resolving.

I can't really say for sure. But talking to the van/reefer guys, it sounds like they are about the same as far as appt times and such.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm not looking to make a move right now, but I might be in a year or so.

So far I like Magnum, and maybe Britton. Do you have any other suggestions? I don't want to run flatbad, so (what look like good) suggestions like Jones Brothers are out. How is Jim Palmer? I remember seeing their trailers when I was driving for Prime; I know Prime bought them (or something).

Jim Palmer had a contract to haul freight for Prime, but Prime doesn't own the company.
Same man that owns Jim Palmer also owns Wilson Logistics. Both have cdl school.
Carolina Logistic in Candler, NC is reefer outfit that runs coast to coast.

What makes you say Britton over Magnum? They both seem pretty good, based on what I've seen.

The reason I personally picked Britton over Magnum is because Britton has a flatbed division. And I have been pretty happy here for almost 8 years.

One thing to bear in mind about Britton and the reason why they do have a good amount of Canadian runs is that they are owned by Bison Transport, which is a Canadian company. You very often see Britton trucks pulling Bison trailers. I work for Britton's Flatbed division like @MrEd and they treat me well. I have no complaints about them. If you call them I am sure they will be truthful about what their van/reefer division is like. @ncmickey I think used to work for Magnum and lives in North Carolina so might have good information regarding them. Best wishes to you!

    MrEd Thanks this.
