I'll have a new truck made when they come out with a new design. I bet it will look awesome.

2020 Cascadia DD15, with DT12. I've driven since 12 miles now has 30k averaging 8.8 all miles. I pull for United Van lines so... Sometimes heavy sometimes light.

I remember the olden days when cars with manual transmissions got better mileage than those with automatics. It something to do with the inefficiency of the automatic. Has that general rule changed with modern automatic transmissions?
PE_T Thanks this. -
Yeah, just about everyone I’ve spoken to that drives an automatic says their mpg’s are noticeable higher. I will say that it is possible to beat the automatic, but you have to know the terrain and at what point to downshift/upshift. The automatics don’t know the terrain (although it may change in the future), so at times it downshifts at 1150 rpm on a small steep hill to then upshift again soon after. If the driver knows the terrain, he can switch the automatic to manual mode and prevent it from downshifting unnecessarily, or maybe letting off the fuel pedal can prevent this.
