The dwi might not show up on your mvr but it will show up on your criminal background check. Trust me they will find it. The fact that you were on probation will disqulify you from some of the bigger carriers. As far as the reckless driving charge did you say you live in Tn but got the ticket in Tx? If that is the case Tx might not share that info with Tn so it might not show up on your mvr. I got a speeding ticket in Va last year that still hasn't shown up on my mvr in Nc.

I am looking to get into trucking as well and I am worried about a similar issue. I got arrested for a DUI in Illinois in June of 2002 and I did not get a conviction. I did 25 hours of alcohol counseling and was on supervision for a year. After that the judge dropped the case and I was not convicted.

This does not show up at all on my MVR.

I've been hesitant to quit my job and sign up with schnieder, etc, because I am worried about getting a few weeks into the program and being told "thanks for coming but no thanks" because of this.

I am not sure if I should list this on an application or not. I was never convicted. "Innocent until proven guilty" - right?

I am afraid of this becoming an issue, and I hope it wont, because I never drink and drive anymore ( hard lesson learned, but it was learned ) and I am hoping I havent ****************** myself out of a career path.

Please let me know if you have any insight on this?

( Also - I thought I should add that I never lost my license even for a day - my attorney had my statutory summary suspension, the one you automatically get in Illinois for a minimum of three months with any DUI, rescinded. So, I never lost my license - not for a day. )

So, no conviction, no suspension. There was an accident. ( Thats how I got it to begin with - it was my fault and happened just as I was turning onto the street I live on. )

So Im not sure how to present this on an application. I was never convicted of anything, but there is an accident report. It was 4 years and 4 months ago.

son-house - I wouldn't be too quick with the '6 mos to a year heals all'. The sad truth is your past will follow you (at least for five years, more with some other companies)- trust te on this one. I have two too many tickets for most company's liking and it has been next to impossible for me to get a better driving job than I had with Convenant- or at least for another 1.5 years when they become old enough to ignore.

    Good luck!

Last september I got a ticket for 86 mph coming down rice hill in southern oregon near roseburg their is a pilot at the bottom i was doing 90mph up it. Reckless yes you bet anyway got myself a 500 dollar ticket for that now I'm regularly accused of driving like my grandmother. I was going that fast because I felt pressured to get the load their on time you see I was new and dumb. Anyway just go the #### speed limit dispatcher be ###### they dont care about you anyway.

Tough sell. It seems hard to believe you've been driving for 15 years and you didn't hire the best attorney out there to get out of the reckless.
    ORRRR,

Did you get arrested for DUI and have it pled down to a RD? If it's this case, that DUI arrest won't go away and you're doomed for a good 3-5 years.

It's probably going to be the same for the RD as well, but with 15 yrs of driving you might be able to talk a small company into hiring and insuring you.

You can pay a lawyer and try and have the wreckless driving expunged from your record. If it don't show on your MVR I wouldn't worry about it or claim it.

If you were charged with Reckless driving that is a misdemeanor and even if it doesn't show up on your MVR it will your Criminal record. If it was a DUI/DWI that was pleaded down then they both will show up but only the reckless will show a conviction. No matter what you should disclose what happened because if you get hired on then they find it they will probably fire you and then your DAC will be ruined too.
