This lady showed up at one of my stops yesterday and I noticed this box on the front of her trailer.
She gave me the nickel tour and what it was was a storage place to put all her load bars blankets and plywood out of the way.
When you’re inside the trailer, there is a big door that folds down and acts as a ramp to put all her equipment in that front area.
anyone else seen this before?

Ok, dumb question.....how is that legal? How does it not make the trailer effectively 55’ long or so?
Bean Jr., PE_T, Rideandrepair and 4 others Thank this. -
Dunno? I saw that it had a patent number on the front of it.
maybe because it’s on the front and out-of-the-way?
at first I thought it was like a nose cone, aero type thing.alds, PE_T, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -

Could just be easier to put a headache rack on the truck , just modify it for dry van driver
alds and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Need to have easy access to your blankets, load bars and plywood inside the trailer.
Rideandrepair, Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
In WA we couldn’t overhang their front of a 53ft flat without a permit. Be interesting to see how these play out.starmac, Rideandrepair and Bakerman Thank this. -
She said they have at least one more of these trailers in their fleet

They make these holders for load bars that clip into e track. They are slickers than snot. Line a dozen up at the back neatly against the wall.
Think I'd just opt for the box underneath if I had to have one.
Most guys just stack their blankets in the van.
Plywood. Meh. 1/2 " cheap, then just donate it someplace.Bean Jr., D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
I used to have my plywood on the back, but it just got in the way so I moved it to the front of the trailer up against the front panel with about five or six load bars holding in eight sheets of five eights plywood.
Then I keep all my extra load bars up top against the roof of the trailer in e-track that is up as high as it can go to clear any tall pallets that I have Mike coming in.
then I keep all my blankets on four wheeler so I can move them around easily either out of the trailer while I’m loading or up to the front and strap them in out-of-the-way if I don’t have to use them.Last edited: Nov 9, 2019
