I'm actually thinking the opposite direction. Loose fitting shoes for freedom of circulation. I've experienced it often. Loosen my boots or take them off. Feel much better. Working feet harder feels good. But lately with leg pain, can't do much of that. Can't do much when driving. That's partly why I think a tens unit will help. Constant slow and easy.
I've heard of the compression socks. I can't say they begin to convince me.
Why did you quit OTR

To me local would be more like a job. My kids are all grown up and moved away so my wife and I like OTR. Just depends on where you are in life. We take breaks from OTR every year or so and stay home 4 to 6 months at a time
After being g home a few months we are always ready to get back out there. I am retired and get a pension so it's a little bit easier for me but I earmed it staying in my prior profession over 29 years.D.Tibbitt, FlaSwampRat, Tx Countryboy and 2 others Thank this. -

I liked OTR, but I’m teaching science these days in an urban district.
To me company OTR is for a single guy without kids, at least it resulted in my relationship failing within a year... My goal is find a carrier I can still run with over the summer, as I never want to chain up tires again.kemosabi49, D.Tibbitt, smokey12 and 2 others Thank this. -

I’m a little backwards I guess.
Started 28 years ago and ran Midwest to east coast and was home almost every weekend. I thought that was ok.
10 years into driving I took a run that I was home everyday. 350 miles round trip. It was 12 hrs a day 6 days a week with Tuesday off. I made great money but I hated it.
For the last 17 years or so I have been running Minnesota and the Dakotas to California or Washington. I stay out usually about 10 weeks then I take 14 to 21 days off. The wife and I usually go in a vacation somewhere. Last two times I was home we went to Panama City Beach and then the Ozark mountains respectively. We always try and go somewhere.
OTR works great for me. I think the key is to have a good woman at home and to live in a crappy climate. Lol. I live in extreme north eastern Minnesota up by Canada. So cold.bryan21384, smokey12, WesternPlains and 1 other person Thank this. -
