    Some companies have specific numbering system.

    Look at England trucks. Any number that starts with 9 is lease operator. I think 8 and 7 might be included. MAYBE.

    Look at JCT trucks. Their numbers start with letters. How may letters is how many lease operators have been in that truck.

    A #1. B #2. etc.

    Can't tell for sure, but this is the helicopter pilot equivalent of a Swift driver cutting a corner too close and taking the nose off of a parked tractor.
    No reason for either.

    i once flew over the ocean in a heli without doors on it. i didnt have a seat belt on ether. best $20 ride

    Yes. I was in aviation when 10 year work history and drug tests were required. I cannot remember if those rules applied to truck drivers and pilot/mechanics at exactly the same time, but I think they did apply to all of the above at the same time, although companies could require them before employment even before they became mandatory.
