Been thinking about going over there & starting my tankers career. On their website it says they will provide training & pay for it but I don't see anything else regarding pay once hired . Any drivers that are currently working there provide some feedback ?

You'd better be clean-shaven, no earrings and willing to cover your tattoos. (If it's the same Oakley that runs hopper bottoms)

Different Oakley. This one has the white trucks and food grade tankers. The no facial hair one is Bruce Oakley Trucking.Mooseontheloose, tscottme, Suspect Zero and 1 other person Thank this.

Can't cut my facial hair
-
That shouldn’t be a concern with the Oakley you’re asking about. There’s another one that doesn’t allow their guys to have facial hair but it’s not the food grade tanker one.Mohtrucker and Suspect Zero Thank this.

Been with IRT four years now. I have few complaints. I like that when I have a problem, it is addressed quickly.
I'm not constantly at odds with dispatch.
Good equipment. Good maintenance.
Really, the Achilles heel of IRT is they don't pay hub or even practical miles, and they are absolutely allergic to drivers receiving detention pay. There was even a class action lawsuit over this.tscottme and Mohtrucker Thank this. -
Do they pay household goods miles ? As no do they train those who have never driven a tanker beforeFlat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Just zip code to zip code. Like it's still 1982.
You'll need one year of experience before applying to Indian River Transport. USDA regulations. You know.
If you're from Florida, you might check out Miami-based carrier Florida Beauty.
Perhaps @Chinatown could offer some other suggestions. He will want to know where you will work from. -
I'm coming out Dallas-Fort Worth Area I'm close to my on year anniversary with this company but they are mainly dry van . Wanted to know if a tanker company will take me with a year experience
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Not sure but you can call and ask. Quality Carriers and Groendyke have terminals in N Ft Worth-Saginaw area, Schwerman (Tankstar) at the tank wash in Hutchins and CC Cobb in Waxahachie. All chemical tank. I know you were asking about food grade but thought you may be interested.

Yes. You could likely be hired on as a local fuel driver. DFW has to be teeming with jobs.
