I have been lucky and never had to repower a load, but when I had a shop, I had quite a few go down when loaded that had to be repowered. there was no rental close, but when it was a small outfit that couldn't repower it them selves, I would do it myself, it it was just a few hundred miles and had a list of oo"s that would take their load on for them, we did not rent out the trucks though.

I rented one fro Penske, about 12 yrs ago, it was simple, maybe $120/ day? Plus mileage charge. Tried again about 6 mos later. They changed their policy, no rentals to 1 Truck Operations. I don’t know how long that lasted. Chase Bank, also had stopped doing Truck loans. Point being, You can’t count on any of these Companies when things go bad. I’m definitely going to get pre-approved with them again.I Need a back up plan. Hopefully I won’t need to rent one. But I’d rather rent a Truck, finish my run, than re power a load, or have someone pull my trailer. I’ve done both, Renting was cheaper.

We rent a day cab every week to deliver to a customer our road tractor can’t get in. Penske has been pretty good. About $140 per day plus miles.
