I worked for a temp agency one time.
The agency would offer me various jobs and I could stay long term or change anytime I wanted to.
    They have local/regional/OTR.
Your paychecks are from the temp. agency, so you can work for several companies over a period of time and it's not job hopping because the temp agency is your employer and they're paying you.
@Trucking in Tennessee had a good experience with Trillium Staffing.

There are so many companies that are desperate for drivers that they will take you when they can get you. My last company had drivers that had quit 3 or 4 times and come back. As long as u do a good job while your there and stay out of trouble a lot of them will re hire you multiple times

Why would a tour company near a national park need a cdl driver?

The only caveat is that my wife rides with me. Not sure temps would work with that situation. No sense in renting an apartment and buying and selling cars every six months just to have a local home base.

I’m going to start making some calls, but it’s unlikely you can choose the exact period of time you want to work.

Because they drive people through the park(s) in open air trolley type tour buses while a guide gives a speech. Some times it's the local transit authority that runs the buses. A bit late, but look here for an idea of what I'm talking about. Mammoth Lakes Ski Area just opened up this past weekend, so ski resorts will be hiring people soon if they haven't already.

Ski resorts are definitely a good option for seasonal work and they are hiring right now. It's funny that you mentioned Mammoth Mountain ski area because I was just at Main Lodge last week. They opened one run with man-made snow and the rest of the mountain is bone dry dirt

You may have the wrong idea about trucking. Trucking is not casual. Loads are usually on a time line. Most customers have a need to refill their supply by a specific date to keep their company operating efficiently. If your going to be a tourist with their load? You may find what ever company offering you a hotel room while another company driver comes and claims your truck while your asleep.
