My ELD has one of those red warnings. Took it to the shop Monday. They reinstalled the software but the dude said he didn't think it would actually fix anything.

    Sure enough he was right.

My ELD has somehow become disconnected from the GPS. So it doesn't know where it is. I am on a load from Givens to Berea, and got called twice today by two separate people who wanted to know if I was still on the yard. Because the ELD GPS isn't working, so their truck-tracking software shows me still parked on the Richmond yard despite the fact that I was in Beckley when they called.

Got a load heading south to get me to my first cruise... but... it drops in Sanford at 1:30AM... which is 2:30AM before unloaded... the a three hour trip to home... which is 5:30AM... grab a couple hours of rest then head to the boat... great taking a mini vacation on two hours of sleep... great start to a cruise... napping in the cabin.

and here’s where I have issue with both HOS and Company Policy... I stopped and took a 10 on an on-ramp... but... now I have to wait another SIX HOURS, on the same on ramp, before I drive to my LUL... because if I start now, I can bump the dock and wait, but then I’ll roll beyond my 14 and can’t legally drive... and our 30 minute of PC can’t get me home which is three hours away.

so now, instead of driving fresh after a 10, I’m driving into the night on the tail end of my day... then rushing home to grab two hours of sleep before starting the mini vacation.

safety first... just doesn’t add up to me at times

I know, I’m sounding like some veteran trucker claiming I know when I’m tired or unsafe vs rested and safe... and not some government agency... lol ... silly thoughts.

Per Safety, the red warnings should fall off on their own after a certain number of days... I had two pop up after I had my batteries checked during a PM... one has since dropped off.

8/10 split might be the answer.

Empty? Not under dispatch? Going home? Perfect reason to use PC. I do it Everytime I empt anywhere in Florida then head home for hometime.

    "Colton yard in California"
It's been about 5 months since I have come to the Colton yard in California.
U.S. Express have made a couple of changes...
Coming in all Abilene trucks need to get into the right hand lane now!
Reason for this is that we have now our own entry lane with a very small sign.
The others lanes are for C.R. England trucks and are block.

Coming out you have to go behind and around there shop! And then follow the only exit lane towards the right.
Keep your eyes wide open... There is now a lot of people traffic.
I Hope this helps any one coming this way specially at night. I have included a picture.

Exactly. We've been told by our log lady if we get empty and are headed home for hometime use PC and if it exceeds the amount our company allows no big deal they will fix it when they get in. If it says we are in violation ignore it, that we are good to go

Doesn’t it switch you off PC once you hit the 30 minute mark? Or do you put in PC and in the comments put empty not under load?

Idk how your company does it but at Millis I was told to ignore when it switched you from PC to driving at the 30min mark. That it was still ok.
