When Pilot and Flying J got together in 2010, the FTC anti-trust ruled that PFJ had to sell off some locations. So they sold a lot of them to Loves. Tacoma, Des Moines and Troutdale Or were some that became FJs.

I've never bothered to go there, mostly because of the horror stories I heard about the place. I'm heading up that way today. I always stay at Gee Cee's exit 57 then drive into town early before the traffic gets bad. Occasionally I'll stay in Napavine in back of the Prime Rib place or at the MacDonald's.

I always liked those kind of truckstops, but they were getting few and far between before I quit otr, and it sure has not got ant better.
I backed in a spot there one evening and was looking at a rig in my mirror in the row behind me. I couldn't figure out what it was.
When I got out it was a 359 with the hood up, and it was massive, I walked back and talked to the old man that was driving it, he had added 2 and 1/2 feet to the hood, planning on putting a 3412 he had in it. lol. He had stretched the truck an ungodly amount and had a 16 foot van body he had built a sleeper out of, had floor heat a huge generator set up and fixed up pretty nice, pulled a step for landstar and mostly did partials.
I ask him if he was also planning on putting another steer axle to hold up that 3412. lolSteveScott Thanks this.
