I am new to this industry, I have only been driving for little over 4 months and my only complaint so far is why didn’t I start this a long time ago. I love driving and I know I don’t have any room to comment on any other drivers or companies, however I just want to applaud you for actually putting it down for this driver who was running the company down. The company I work for has so many bad reviews but I have not experienced anything like others complain about. I work hard and like most jobs if you work hard and put your best then most of time it will payoff. I know my company has very low pay but I have gained some real good experience and I have been a solo driver since my second week here. I’m looking for a better job but it can be the best paying job out there if management sucks still not going to be happy. My driver manager I have is amazing I’m gonna hate losing him everyone I dealt with in office has tried their best to keep me happy and rolling well almost everyone lol. So I guess what my long comment is trying to say “ if you worked somewhere and you didn’t give it your best. Why get on here and trash the company because they didn’t take care of you? Work hard, show respect, demand respect and be a A plus driver and you should be treated as one. I know it’s worked for me I’m going to switch jobs only because I need more money and need more home time because I’m a single dad who is doing my best raising my only kid and she is 16 now heck might have to find two more jobs lol maybe not

Wow I’m so glad you posted this. I have only been driving for a little over 4 months but I will take your comment as advice. I was a pipe fitter for 17 years and if you complained like that you would be out of luck lol. I’m new so I’m learning I’m a hard worker and I love trucking but I have never seen so many grown men a lot of them veteran truck drivers who simply complain about everything I don’t want to be no change that I will never let myself be that wayx1Heavy Thanks this.

Complaining, Bellyaching, story telling, er... things of that nature is really rampant in this industry. I cannot find such a such a shipper I gotta drive back 130 miles to ask someone at company. In a world of phones, net and wireless plus satellite comms but no. Burn 100 dollars in fuel to waste the day looking for hand holding and directions.
I was with some real rough people in my time and its damaging for lack of a better word. Ultimately the load has to be somewhere and there you are. Yer it. Get going, yer late.
I would have loved to be a pipefitter in a different life welding this to that and bolting here and there. It would be such a joy. But no. I got into it and however much or little complaining, there i be.
Fast forward to today, trucking in some ways died. And some mourn that passing. And somehow they roll on in a situation of micromanagement and restrictions (Regulations) that are just almost a motivation to call a State convention and secession. Ha..
There is only one of me. I like to think I got away with it. And maybe if you had a idea what was, you would too.
Good luck! (I could never be a pipefitter.... it's awesome.) -
Exactly, this place is full of "family atmosphere" bs. You know a place is really pathetic when they bring in new driver's that earned their license and charge them a 6 month 1200.00 contract - NO compete, just to ride with a company trainer for 8 weeks @ .10 cpm. What a joke!Lonesome Thanks this.

I agree that they seem to save loads for “the good old boys” but I can’t necessarily prove it. I find myself pissed off about something every other week and contemplate quitting. But, for me (experienced driver) I bring home usually a grand a week (for people wondering how much you can make working there) and I’m home a lot. so that alone is enough for me to stick around. For now anyways.
