I am OTR and I try to stay out for weeks at a time. My accessorial pay stands about 23%. I bring in $1700 a week.

Even though I am OTR I have been given the dedicated loads a few times by different terminals. Not a big fan of them as I am wasting a day+ driving empty getting 45cpm. They are only good for people who want to get back home in a day or two. So am not sure if they dont have people to do these runs but am sure the sweet dedicated loads are given to people that been there a while.

hmmm.....I've always put everything in q/c and never had any issues. 'notebook paper' might be 'cool'...but if anything, it's on the computer and if any dispute, don't delete messages and there it is! 'notebook paper' can be easily disputed!

It's a 'give and take' kind of thing. I've run a bunch of dedicated for different terminals. Sure it's an 11 cent difference, as far as empty to loaded goes, but I've made good on them as well. It's all in how well, everything goes(condition-wise, ie, road, weather, etc)

Do you have to stay in a certain area or can you switch back-and-forth? Say do a month of out and backs and then do a month of otr / system?

Yeah like I said. If you deal with different terminals best to stay on Qualcomm. I have only had 2 issues in 11 years. Once miles were missing on a system load from another terminal It was immediately added to the next check when I called them on it.

The other time they actually overpaid me. I had been out several weeks and turned in some hotel receipts. Not all of them were company hotels. They reimbursed me $300 for a company hotel I didn't pay for.

I immediately told Mac and they took it off the next check. If I ever have a discrepancy I just go see them. Hardly ever happens.

That depends on terminal freight. They have to cover the loads first and foremost so you might not always get what you want when you want it.

That's pretty much how they ran me when I did system loads. If I had home time scheduled for a weekend they would usually put me on an out and back. The only time I didn't get home for a requested home time was a system load where the return load got me home a day late.

That seems reasonable. Does Superior run mostly the midwest and to the east? Any west coast or Canada?

They do, but I'm under the impression they're few and far between. When I was at the terminal to talk to the manager, there was a run to Colorado the dispatcher was trying to find a driver for.

oh yeah, we go everywhere in the US and Canada. Past year, it's been slow for everyone! Most of the CA runs have been given to guys from AZ/CA. I did run into a guy from Greer, last night in Markham, Il, that got a load to Carson, CA. I think he picked up today. I've only gotten 1 load to CA from a terminal that wasn't my home terminal in 3 years. smh :(
