how much did you pay to fix the gelled reefer unit. its part of doing businessBean Jr., PE_T and Tx Countryboy Thank this.

Nothing I waited until I got to a warmer area 24 hours later and started back up. It was protect from freeze set at 60 in the box held above freezing until I got it restartedPE_T and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Also it just rubs me the wrong way that something doesn't perform as stated in the directionsBean Jr. and truckdriver31 Thank this.

I don't use the stuff at all. If it is that cold the engine stays running, and that keeps it from gelling.
The one time I did use, shortly after putting it in the truck stopped running because the water was separated out and it froze in all the fuel filters.Bean Jr. and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
I know on the video he tested it and it didn't do goodtruckdriver31 Thanks this.

The test Project Farm did included a crude lubricity test, and Howe’s did worse than straight #2. Therefore I would say it does not aid in lubrication in the fuel system.truckdriver31 Thanks this.

In the video it's in a jar with no motion. In a truck tank the returning fuel keeps it moving.truckdriver31, Wheeljack and Studebaker Hawk Thank this.

I would be intereated to see how 90% Isopropyl Alcohol compares to these other products for gelling... I know it wont add lubricity or corrosion resistance, but would really like to see how it does against the others in the gelling department.
90% Isopropyl Alcohol is what I use for anti gell... And it has never let me down... 8 ounces treats 100 gallons, I will double that if I get southern fuel, or if temps are below -10°F.magoo68, truckdriver31 and Tx Countryboy Thank this. -
I love to watch unknown individuals with unknown qualifications invent "tests" on the internet.
The results are invalid. As TxCountryboy mentioned, and as all of the manufacturers of anti gel instruct on the label, the product must be stirred or agitated, which is done by the recirculation function in a class 8 diesel engine fuel system.
I will stick with recommendations provided by expert organizations like The Maintenance Council of the ATA or the engine/truck OEM'S themselves.Snake Farmer, Wheeljack and truckdriver31 Thank this.
