Now do you folks understand why us very seasoned drivers make all those wise ### cracks about certain drivers and trucks when the pull into truck stops and so forth? It's NOTHING PERSONAL against the particular driver, it's just that WE all KNOW what the hell goes on at these schools like C.R , Werner, Swift and so forth... not YOUR folks fault but we know they don't give you crap for proper training, which in turn puts US at risk having you out there... understand what I mean? AGAIN, NOTHING PERSONAL AGAINST YOU, just the companies themselves that put profit 1st over safety and proper training!

Wish I had the answer for you all on a way to get REALLY trained... there ARE actual proper training schools out there I'm sure but most folks need something fast and go to companies that SAY they will begin making money VERY soon, which is exactly where the problem comes in I guess...

:biggrin_25511:All I can say is that I started with CRE in 97 they trained me at SLC after 18 mos I was a trainer in their Daylight Fleet out of Los Angeles. I did pretty good while I was there since I was a trainer and getting all the miles I left in 01 I was just tired of never knowing who or what you were getting next as a student. Do not get me wrong some were really great people clean and respectful but than there were the others. Sure I could have stopped training but trust me it would have not been worth it the money was lousy for most solo drivers.:biggrin_2553: A couple of wks ago I was at a truckstiop in Missouri and I saw an England driver in a brand new 2010 Cascadia man it was sharp all decked out and black really nice. Well I just had to ask him how much the lease payment was and he replied only $500 a wk for 3 yrs with a buyout of $45 k. He also mentioned that England pays about 91 cpm but they take 14 cpm off the top for a variable deduction. When I asked him what was this for he said he does not really know. He went on to say that it's only a good deal if you train cause you can work the heck out the student for $38 dollars a day. He says it's like a puppymill at England they just keep churning them out. The one thing that stuck in my mind from the conversation was that he said it's like a pyramid scheme where everyone uses and abuses it just so happens the trainees are at the bottom. They sell this plan cause the trainee is led to believe that in about 18 months he can be sitting in the trainers seat screwing students.:biggrin_25511:

Must agree with this, all companies want is to make a quick dollar and could care less if you, the rookie, causes a major accident that takes untold amount of lives, including your own life.

after the class training there is the otr trainers(some not all) that need to be check to see if they are trainers not in it just for the money(which some are). for example i had a trainer that was more interested in sleeping instead of teaching on what a person needs help in and how to run illegal. which it didnt work on his behalf and has a really bad case of road rage and also thinks that any person that gets there cdl out of california is not worth his time or anyone elses as a matter of fact he despises

When you are indoctrined into the fleece-purchase you must have 100% loyality to the fleece or it won't work. You must be a "go-getter" and get other people fleeced or the pyramid scheme (ponzi) won't work.

When asked after 30days if you are ready to train -You say, "You #### right I am" and I've been giving this Mormon religion some serious thought."

Driving someone elses truck makes you a driver, not a trucker. If he wanted to become a trucker he should have visited a dealership and bought a truck.

ROTFLMAO, that should have been your first tip off to the kind of business you were at.
