How much $$$ are you lease operators netting per week

By the same token, maybe we should. That idea that we shouldn't talk about our pay was actually started by our employers many years ago, so we wouldn't know what was possible.

 

I think you can make $2.37 a week if you work hard.

 

The same as your avg worker thats home everynight working at a Manufacture.
Trucking is a joke . You never see your family and everybody takes advantage of you. Go to a Tstop Pay to park. Pay to shower . Dont buy a half gallon of Milk thats 3.99. Dont buy fruit 1 bannana 1dollar. Shipper recievers leave you sitting to unload now you dont have time to take a shower. The pay is terrible the lifestyle sucks and they treat you like crap for profits. Doesnt matter if your company or owner. 30yrs OTR worst mistake i ever made. But i been in the game this long whatelse do you do

 

The pay ain't that bad, at least not to me. Trucking has elevated my situation and my kids don't need for anything. People will treat you bad if you have a bad attitude, the truck stops will take all your money if you allow it. Anyway to the OP, however much money you make in trucking is contingent on you. It don't matter what branch of trucking. What you put in is what you get out of it

 

Ive put 30 yrs into it. Put all you want into it its not worth it. As a company driver you drive when company says so. As a OO you drive your equip and body and family into the ground to stay above water. Your kids grow without you . I use to be full of it when i started trucking 30yrs later i been better off mentally physically working in a factory . Yea i got a nice shiny truck to drive now i own 1, but the bs it took me to get where i am wasnt worth it.

 

Its BS regardless of what job you take. Just about every worker in this country is overworked and underpaid. What do you do though?

 

I called all of them they all charge anywhere from 700_1500 wk for a tractor. A tractor should not cost you 3000-4000 a month insurance excluded. I look at the youtube owner operators the ones that get in and try to brag then recruit then come clean and turn in that tractor. I want to say the industry has improved wages but that comes with bells and whistles in that truck, camera , eld ,and collision avoidance that slams on brakes to wake you up I guess. Do whats best for yourself i cant answer, however being bitter about making no money as a lease operator not worth it, you was set up to run all the miles or maintain a high note and unit with no equity in most cases. The way to look at lease purchase if the company have company trucks look at those turnover rates and overall driver moral at the company. If they are a revolving door dont lease or work with them. I want to say all carriers arent for everybody you have to get in where you fit in. Truck ownership nowadays is not as important as these trucks are expensive to maintain and rebuild. I used to own a pre emmission 2000 pete 379 cat power a 2012 volvo cummins power,2009 pete 386 cat (worse yrs) and they worked out to be the same fuel mileage savings with aero trucks netted me more at years end. Stay focused not on ownership but profits. keep in mind a paid off truck can fail you as well. the key is good credit and money management. Dont be afraid to pull plug on carrier when you are losing money its just business.

 

For me personally I find this to be the truth, and probably the most accurate answer you'll get. Only thing I would add is realizing when you're ####ing up and own it, don't blame something else. Also have a reasonable plan and goal in mind. Keyword *reasonable*
