Has anone ever seen a semi with side pipes?
I've seen a few over in Europe, and I kind of like them. OTOH, I also like my stacks...

I think CMT's T.V. show (Trick My Truck) Did up a rig with side pipes.

I've seen plenty of car carriers with side pipes. And a few O/O's. They're a pain to park next to when idling if you have your windows open. I call 'em low boy exhaust. One of those companies in the N/W has 'em on all their trucks.

Most of the car carriers I see either have just an grassburner exhaust (exits under the truck) or a side turnout. I've not seen any with the pipes running down the side of the truck.
I hear ya on the idling. I ran into one one time who'd cut his stacks out and put a 90-degree turnout (dump truck-style) on top of straight pipes, low enough to avoid getting soot on the cars on the top deck. I was longer than he was, so his pipe lined up about perfect with my sleeper vent. This was one of those older 1980s Internationals; I don't remember the company, but it was painted yellow.
Suffice it to say I woke up to a nice haze and a very noticeable exhaust odor. I love my diesel, but not THAT much.
