Jb Hunt did the same to me,called me to orientation, then said I was declined because they could'nt /would'nt verify some of my employment, that's OK,was'nt that keen for the job anyway except that it was local (but slave wages)

I worked over 10yrs for JB in almost every driving division, some were good some were bad. I recently was involved in an accident which JB's own safety dept ruled non-prevenatble but when I found out the guy that hit me was uninsured I declared workers compensation(within 24hrs of incident). Low and behold guess who was unemployed the next day? They determained that now instead of me being dispatched from my home I was now required to report to Lowell AR for dispatch which is a 1000mi+ drive 1 way and travel time to and from home counts against time off days.
They have no care for loyalty because as of last spring they would graduate in the neighborhood of 300 drivers from company orienatation and only have 100 trucks available.
Lease Purchase was even worse, I was in Atlanta yard on a Friday and they had 100% of the lease orienatation taking buses home telling them they may have a truck for them in 3 weeks.

I wont lie I made good money with them for many years, but the company has gone downhill drastically since the death of Mr.Hunt. Although he had not been involved for years it wasnt until his death that it became all about the numbers and drivers be ######

I have always head Wal Mart was a great company until Sam Walton passed away. I don't know if that's true or not, but seems to make sense.

What do you mean by slave wages? I am curious as to why they advertise on Sirius Radio and they state they have the best jobs for the best drivers. They talk about local work and if the job is not available right now, they want you to be the first to know.

Now, I am very happy where I work but I am curious as to what JB Hunt thinks are great wages for local work. Thanks in advance.

A JB Hunt l/o unloaded at the same location I did this am. Said he'd been there for several months and in the last three weeks his best settlement was -$10.00. He said he was doing alot of sitting.

Once I was unloaded I had another load to pick up. He said his dispatch told him to find a place to park due to no freight. He told me he was going to park in JB's terminal in Louiseville,KY and turn the truck in. Can't blame him.

I know here in the Pittsburgh area, they claimed to have a local job installing appliances at 18/hour with time and a half after 40. They claimed to have all the good benefits, but made it impossible to get on there.

They claim you have to live close to a certain zip code (which I do) but their computers say I don't, so I don't qualify. Go figure...

Ha ha! For me, it was JB Slow, but now your name for them is MUCH more appropriate!!!

Oh, and even though I am "too far" from the terminal for the local run they had, as I was out and about today, I drove through Coraopolis, and wouldn't you know it....JB was right where I told the recruiter they were! 20 minutes (and about 12 miles) from my house....I do recall telling him it was going to be in Coraopolis!!!! So much for him listening to me....Oh well. Because their computer says I am too far, I am too far away.

One thing I can gaurantee you about JB... if the computer says it, it has to be true. Logic and common sense have no place there
