Applying air regulator to rear air bags

    I think you will be fine. Just try to slow down around train tracks and watch out for the pot holes. If you are really worried about I would just load the camper trailer on a low-boy flatbed and haul it that way, maybe try to find a back-haul for extra pocket money. Like you said, it is a one time deal, so take it easy and you should be fine.

    The ride should get better if you do a single axle conversion vs tandems since you cutting the effective spring rate in half and also the load capability but if it's a dedicated heavy duty towing vehicle that isn't an issue. Just make sure you single it properly and move the rear axle forward and do not just delete it as the forward axle needs to have the power divider engaged at all times for the truck to drive. It was only designed to be used as a traction aid in conjunction with the rear axle at low speeds.
