They did the internet chat room thing to bust sex offenders and a guy in a Celadon truck came to have sex with a 13 year old. He had cocaine in his truck and prior felony drug convictions too.
-
Hmmm. Grounds to terminate that guy right there, in addition to whatever the law gives him, if anything.
-
or was that covenant?

I wouldn't put that sort of behavior past either one.

I wasn't trying to imply they never have a problem w/home time but compared w/other companies its like night & day. In 2 ½ yrs they have been late getting me to the house 1 time and by late I mean I didn't get home till the morning of my 1st day off and not the day before as is the norm.
Maybe so, it just doesn't sound right, know what I mean? With all the talks about hrs/time it seems someone would have said "Use the van." They have drivers for the van or you can use it yourself if no one is there to drive it. Maybe he didn't know about the vans, I don't know.
The meat of this post!!! SOOooo true!!!!! NEVER,NEVER,NEVER refuse or bypass a random test!!!!! As someone said before, the carrier sets up their program for selection and testing based on fed guidelines but once set they can't be changed on a case by case basics. If they were it would no longer be "Random." This is a area where you must submit even if you think something is wrong. Do the test 1st then raise cane!
You got me there.... LOL
I've only stayed in the "Dorm" one night, checked out the next morning and went to a motel. They weren't as bad as apparently they were when you were there, I know they have done work on them, furniture, beds, etc.. But as I've said before I'm an old guy set in my ways. As for the "Less than friendly man" he must have been a "stand in." They have some older ladies that are there 24/7 now days and most think of them as mother types.
I truly don't mean to sound like a recruiting poster for Celadon but I'm sincere about my experience with them. I've found them to be the most well managed company I've ever dealt with. Loads aren't dispatched until pick & delivery have been set/confirmed by C/S dept. (No getting to a place to be told "You aren't supposed to be here.")
I've never had or heard of a payroll/settlement problem. That alone is worth a lot.
Anyway it's a bummer you had a bad start, sounds like anything that could go wrong DID. (Been There)
Happy Thanksgivingtrucker43 Thanks this. -
that was a driver from covenant

CFI is much better.
They put you up in the Holiday Inn; it's is nicer than any Hilton I have ever been in. :smt109 Too much good about them to list.
-
That case involved a Covenant Driver. That one made the local papers here in Chattanooga.

random drug test are just what they are.you need to go to the nearest place of your company choosing, not yours,at the said amount of time by your company, reason being, you are not to choose where or when, for reasons of fraud ,close to home.you can send someone else in your place or get a sample from a friend, put it in a sealbag, tape it to your leg and pass the test. You created alot of suspicions on yourself by jockying around the test, you should have went to the drug test they told you to go to,take the time off required and go home legally.on randoms your company has to do all they can to make you comply on this and cannot legally tell you you can drive after driving or working on duty hours are used. It was your decision that got you into trouble, maybe a driver didn't like you and lied and said you were on drugs, the company doesn't have to tell you why, just take the test. good luck, hope you make out ok.
