Yeah I’m glad it was only a $70 lesson as well! The trooper was a Sergeant, so pretty sure he’s been around long enough to tell when somebody is being honest or bs’ing. I was sure to be polite and professional as well, ie “Yes sir”, “No sir”, etc...
I think I saw a sign for that dam. There was an arrow pointing to the side with a road name and it said no trucks and no vehicles over a certain weight. I can see why they don’t want trucks down some of those roads. If I had been fresh out of training, I probably would’ve hit something to be honest. Fortunately I have about 70k solo miles down and had the foresight to turn slow and wide! Even then it was a tight squeeze at a few points. From here out I will definitely be taking their designated routes. The oos delay made me late to my final delivery which kept me from getting reloaded last night, which in turn caused a 1500 mile load to be given away to another driver, and now I’ve got a 500 mile load instead. All part of the learning curve of this job I guess.
