Went back an read these again and something kinda stuck in my head. When I bought my 18 w9, I did so for two reasons. The first was the extra 9 inches of sleeper over the Volvo. That didnt pan out because the layout and quality is garbage. The second reason was "resale value". Granted at the end of the 5yr term, this truck will be worth around 30-40k more than a comparable Volvo. However I will have spent about 60-80k more in fuel with this truck. So the "resale value" is not something I will consider a relative value when looking at future purchases. I look at the cost over a term, maintenance, and reliability. At the end of 5 years a 60k trailer would owe me nothing. If it makes it another 5, that's gravy. However a 100k trailer would be a different story. theres no way to know if a 15yr old Aspen or cozad would have a major structural problem 2 years down the road.. it's all a risk, new and used. Idk if that makes sense, its 2am and I'm just shutting down after a 19hour day

We tend to tarp everything, especially at that customer. That load was as easy as a 85’ tarp job could be. Only required carpet on the edges.

Their smaller tables suck. You load the table and then back into another door and they load every sharp piece of metal they can find in the shop, then you tarp it! At least that’s what it seems like.

Took that table to California and only had two small holes in the tarp. I consider that a success.

We have a couple customers like that. Takes longer to put edge protection on than the actual tarp job.
