Dang i went to cdl school with swift in phoenix , after being an equipment operator . it took me 5 mins to pick up the double clutching and driving down the road was a little scary especially with phoenix traffic but didnt have much problems. I forgot to switch from high range to low range when coming to a stop and ended up starting out in 7th gear thinking i was in 3rd and ended up stalling in the middle of the intersection, blocked traffic for a good 30-40 seconds, so embarressing lol i think alot of guys get into trucking without any type of experience with equipment or engines, etc and they make it over complicated and fail something that is really not that hard

Place we used to live had a Fazolis in one of the small shopping centers. Used to get shut down at least once a year by health department when they did the inspections.
Some times twice a year. Always was posted in the local paper.

The training centers are trying to work around people that have never ridden in, let alone drove a standard shift car.

The class I was in there were about 30 people that made it out to the driving range.

They had the folks that have driven standard shift cars and bikes form our own little group of 6. One of the guys had not driven a car only rode a bike.

I would hazard to guess only about 10% to 20% of the new students have ever operated a manual shift.

They have to train to the lowest common starting point. That's why there is a big push in the training companies for autoshift.

I’ve had the wife and son camping in here. No ####ing way 3 full size adults can be in here. My 12 year old is 4’10” and weighs 85lbs. My wife is 5’8” and weighs 130lbs. Can you imagine 3 fat ##### like me in here? No. #####. Way. That #### is nuts.
