Another thing i just thought of, when i was using the truck during harvest I had the alternator go out and I put a new AC compressor on it. When i was using single groove V belts I was CONSTANTLY throwing belts when the ac was on, so I tried not to use it unless i had to. When the compressor was engaged I could see the belts kind of jumping around and when I had the belts off there was a little bit of play on that drive pulley, not like a bearing play but i could turn it either way maybe 1/4" if that. Is there supposed to be play on that drive pulley at all? If not Im thinking this is most likely my problem...

There is a little play in the accessory drive, it's gear and need a little gear lash, but it should not be 1/4". I'd pull that accessory drive off and get a look at the gears. Do just like Wore Out said. A bull gear isn't a cheap job, but it can do a lot more damage if you let it go. Check it out now and if it's going, get it done before it lets go and does a lot more damage.BoxCarKidd, ShooterK2 and wore out Thank this.

Would a worn out accessory drive leave flake in oil? I just replaced a badly worn accessory drive and found a small flake and some fillings on my drain plug

Get your bullhead checked asap, I had the same issue on my classic xl and chewed up the water pump and then the bullgear chewed up all the other gears.
