Our trucks (local) all have a company Wi-Fi signal (password protected). We have no gps, no Qualcomm, no cameras, no obd 2 tracker. Any idea of the purpose for the WiFi?
Does your truck have company wifi?

My truck has 2 different types of Wi Fi. One for peoplegarbage I meant PeopleNet, and Freightliner has a Wi Fi that links data to our shop

it had 2, oxen pulling it and each oxen was capable of about the equivalent of 1 horse power...
man those were the days.
now fast forward to my last job that i retired from this past spring..
it had rubber air inflated tires, a roof, a steering wheel, and rubber bands twisted under the hood for all of about 40 miles per winding up of those rubber bands.
strangely though, it DID HAVE wifi...
but i had to stop at any telephone pole, climb up it, and touch the wifi device to the live wires, and hang on for dear life i did not get zapped.Coffey and Newtotrucking2020 Thank this. -
Personal cell phone and tablets show company WIFI signal. A few trucks are rented from Penske and our owned trucks goes to a local mechanic, who has no remote access. We do not have to elog.Last edited: Dec 4, 2019

Most new trucks have some sort of GPS tracking and/or remote diagnostic systems built into them. Id bet that is what your truck WiFi signal is for.Newtotrucking2020 and Coffey Thank this.
