Some of my best loads have been by calling on loads that have been posted awhile with ultra low rates, I give them my price and most times they take it because I was the only one to call, to succeed in this business you have to think outside the box.
-
Good point, I always ask for more on whatever I call on. I may try your tactic, but I've found those gutter brokers to be too cheap to even associate with.
-
Skip the regular cheap ### brokers, look for the new dealerships that don't know what they are doing, or brand new brokers.
Asking for more money on every load is very unprofessional IMO, they will remember you as someone who always just wants more. I know what I need to move it, if that's the posted price, then great we have a deal.. if not then I state my price and I'm firm, even RAT and Mcnutt won't haggle with me anymore, by the time they call their ready to pay my price.Atlanticus trucking Thanks this. -
Well you're entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't feed my family. And maybe I shoulda been more specific- anything under $300 for my lane I ask for more. And since I deal with so many different brokers, I don't worry about them remembering me as someone who always wants more. When I run for Reindeer, they are usually pretty fair. I'm about to drop CarsArrive for being cheap, and Rat is ok. But at the end of the day, I gotta base my decisions on what's best for my family- that's something we can all relate to.
