One thing I discovered is if you drink coffee all the time the body gets used to it. When I was driving I rarely drank more than a cup at breakfast. On those occasions, I had to drive overnight I filled up my thermos and sipped hot coffee till I could see the light of the morning sun. However, as stated, there is no real substitute for getting rest.

Over night deliveries after being up all day. Just drink 2 32oz monsters a few 5 hour energy extra shots the tasty import monster and 4 or 5 tabs of jet alert.
It’s a real party till the shakes and vomiting starts
I’m NOT advising this, I’m advising NOT to do this.

My problem with taking all those Red Bull, 5 hr energy, monster energy stuff is when I finally get to where I can get some rest I can’t turn off my brain... no matter how tired I am...
I usually will drink coffee till about 4 hrs from stopping and spend the rest of the time with the window down, singing 80’s songs at the top of my lungs. If I can’t make it, I take a nap. I ain’t no hero...

Stopping and walking around for 5 or 10 minutes usually always will wake me up enough to go another couple hours. An experience on ND Hwy 8 from williston at night convinced me to not push to hard when tired tho. 2 lane blacktop. No where to pull off. Gotta do 80 or you getting passed. Ice patches. Next stop new town 90 minutes away. Actually there were a few pull offs but you'd only see them as you pass them. Was literally beating myself up just to keep my eyes open. My excellent trainer didn't show up at the yard. Next day I see him he was all "I stopped to get some sleep. You shouldn't have driven that road after working 20+ hours". I swear I could have choked that sob.
