I'll never forget. One day I had work being done on my truck. Couldn't sleep. Had a run assigned to pick up at 9pm. Figured I'd pick it up. Drive as long as I felt good. Then sleep. No big deal. This pickup was south of Minneapolis on i90 at a meat packing plant.
Then I got a call from my favorite manager. She had bailed me out so many times from sitting. Take drop offs and give me something headed out of town right away. So... She said: "Can you do me a favor? I got a load that came up. Same place you're going. Only difference is. There is no delivery date. No delivery time. You have to get it there as fast as you can."
Now what could I say to my favorite manager? I accepted it.
Later that night. I was hurting bad tired. ... I found Free Bird. Cranked it. I was literally bouncing in my seat, driving down the freeway. Never forget it...

Sitting for four hours in the truck this morning doing nothing was definitely a low point in my life, I don't see how guys do that on the regular waiting for shippers and receivers. There is only so much reading the news/YouTube you can watch.

When I was actively learning to play piano...
Only hard part is the mechanics. Getting it down. I found it very easy to play actual music. All these people on this website would have to analyze. Learn things like hesitations. When I find it natural. Common sense. Making it actual MUSIC. All I can say is it's MUSIC. It's supposed to be that way.
That's what made people like Seji Ozawa famous. He made classical actual music.
Also why I don't like much of classical. They haven't gotten to the point of making it music.
Now guitar is close to piano in that the chords are the same. Easy to transition to guitar from piano. Yet... Piano... you can play anything on it. That's why it's used to write music. All the instruments are there at your fingertips.

You are correct on how the chords are the same. I play guitar and I can sit behind a piano for a few minutes making random noises until I start to figure out root, fifth, etc and can start to turn it into decent sounds. My problem is I don't have the dexterity in my right fingers (because I don't do it all the time) that one would need.

One thing I love about my job. I used to have to sit at darn wallyworld DC's for hours. 5 hours typical. Now? It's always ready. I just go in the back. Hook up and I'm gone. Drop it off back there when I'm done. None of this waiting stuff. Freedom in a wallyworld DC.

It was easily the worst day I've ever had at work. I even went inside looking for something to do in the warehouse but they are so reliant on the computer system they couldn't move either. Apparently a fiber optic cable got severed in Atlanta somewhere and shut our company down completely. You would think there would be a back up plan for that. Literally no coca cola products moving in the whole state of Florida... pretty crazy when you think about it on that scale.
