My 09 389 peterbilt is clicking the miles off way to fast. It’s saying like 5 miles to every real mile. Has anybody ever had this problem and what was causing it?
I replaced the isx cummins with a 04 bxs cat and ever since I did that the mileage has been doing this. Is there’s some parameter in the ecm that needs changed or maybe the paccar computer? Thanks!

If you have Cummins insite hook up and check out the tire size, transmission ratios and I believe there is also a speedometer offset.

That would have to one small 1 foot tire to make every mile register as 5 miles. His speedometer would also be pegged becuase it would be thinking he is going 250mph
Anyhow, yeah I would get that fixed ASAP
Has to be computer error. Bring to your nearest mechanic

Good point, could be a odometer offset then, hopefully something cheap and easy.

    Cam Roberts Thanks this.

If he doesn’t get that fixed soon, his truck is gonna have a million miles on it very soon and it’s not gonna be worth squat. The issue will be hearsay

    Rounded_nut Thanks this.

It was the ecm was programmed for a different gear ratio. Get it synced with your trucks gear ratio.

It’s been since Jan so you’ve probably got it figured out by now huh? Sorry for the late response! Was it your ratio?
