Now that Olympus and Heniff has announced their new partnership, I'm hoping Heniff drivers comment on any changes... for the better, or worse in the future. I'm pretty sure nothing will change right away, Olympus is going to need to understand better from the inside what it likes and what it doesn't, which will take time. Anyway, just putting that out there as someone who has an interest in what a Superior/ Olympus partnership might look like... because we all hate to be blindsided. TIA

I'm sure we won't kow any HONEST answers to that question until sometime, middle(maybe) of next year. Remember, this has only just begun. Give it a year before anything, if at all, really DOES change! One of my former companies got sold, a few years back. Things haven't changed at all, other than the 'holiday pay', and that was extremely long overdue. But, everything else stayed the same. IE cpm went up, but miles for drivers didn't at all. That's general freight for you.MYSTYKRACER, Lilj and DEllis Thank this.

Cool, so I can start parking and sleeping at Henniff Terminals now, right?
slim shady Thanks this. -
I haven't had an interview yet. I submitted an application online back in late-October and had a phone conversation w/ the Terminal Manager for the Pasadena, TX terminal. Essentially he told me everything looked good on my app and I should get back to him once I completed CDL school and got my license and completion certificate. Well all of that has been done ( including getting the tri-fecta endorsements and TWIC card ) as of this week so I sent an e-mail to let him know today. I'll give it a couple of days and if I don't hear anything back I'll follow up w/ a phone call on Friday.
I'm really anxious to get started *but* I have a suspicion if this Heniff thing is set to be officially announced after the first of the year stuff like hiring rookie drivers and getting them started on the training track could be on hold for a bit until things shake out.DEllis Thanks this. -
The school deal has been around for a while. I was hired right out of school 12 years ago.
Also Hennif bought out Miller in 2018 and the 2 companies are being run separately. This is a Miller site advertising for drivers I checked out a couple of company jobs listed. Each was different pay. 100% paid family health care as well.

They might leave our pay structure alone and let us continue to run as Superior Carriers. -
The Miller terminals that were union are still called Miller and get paid by the mile. The Miller terminals that were non union became Heniff terminals. I believe.yankatank, DEllis and slim shady Thank this.

That sounds about right, because a customer of Superior who use to also have a lot of Miller trucks in and out, now have Heniffyankatank Thanks this.

that makes sense! I picked up a load NE of Memphis back in sept and a miller daycab was loading at the same rack as me. We both sat in the 'waiting area' and he said his terminal was still miller and not heniff. He didn't mention anything about union, but I was still surprised to see him driving a miller daycab. I'll say this, IT WAS VERY OLD! lol looked to be on it's 'last leg'.

from reading all the other threads, I hate to say, but it looks like you might not get on here at Superior, yet. Guessing you either need to 'get your feet wet' in another company, or, if you have the financial means, wait it out until something does come out. However, best of luck to you.MYSTYKRACER Thanks this.

That sux, but I can't say as I'm surprised given everything that appears to be happening. I haven't heard back from e-mail yet so tomorrow I'll give a call and see if I can talk to the TM.
One positive note, I noticed the position I applied for is still listed on the Superior site:
https://superiorbulklogistics.com/job/tanker-driver-pasadena-tx-great-pay-quality-home-time
. . . but yeah, that and a $1 will get you a soda out of a vending machine.
Fortunately I did cultivate some other options. I'm just hoping to get on somewhere and get rolling as soon after the beginning of the year as possible. My current job is killing me and I can't wait to quit!
