Ah ok. That doesn't seem so bad. I think I'd rather take the lock kit. Are the pad locks just for the trailer doors? Such as, when you pick up a load and need to lock it up (lol, obviously)..? How about the tamper locks on the trailer doors? Or do they use these?
And do you know how to figure your idle percentage?
-
You have no choice Central will deduct load locks and Lock kits!
The doors on the Reefer aren't tamper proof lol without your Padlock anyone walking past can open them!
All loads have a Seal from the company you pick up from and if it doesn't put a Central seal on it!
I am hoping a company driver can help you with the idle question as I have no idea. We have an APU, so our idle is always below 3%.
Two posters on here Brickman and Youngblood have been charged over idle! -
Ok, so you basically have no choice as to whether or not you choose the lock kit over load locks? Understand guys, I'm just trying to learn & get as much info as I can before taking any steps so I'll be well prepared, lol. Yeah, I guess if someone could help me understand how you figure out how much your truck is idling, such as 25%, 30%, 1.5%, lol, that would be cool.

My Hazmat wasn't anything like that. I went in, showed my license, took the test, and then went online to do the TSA clearance. then I was fingerprinted, and once the results were in, I went back to the DMV and had the endorsement put on. You could take the test and the TSA clearance and swap them, but that's how it was done last September.

you have to have load locks and a lock kit, there's no choice. you don't have to buy it through Central, you can buy them anywhere, but they have to be heavy duty, trucking locks. Master Lock is not what central wants. You also have to have load locks, available at truck stops in addition to through Central. Keep in mind whatever load locks you have, you're going to lose them to a dropped trailer sooner or later, so don't think shiny new load locks will always stay with you. I have no idea who had my original load locks now, or if they even work.

Kingpin lock is so no one can steal your trailer!
Padlock goes on your trailer doors!
Loadlocks go in the reefer to secure your load!
Hows the Pro-star going??????? -
I am a new guy looking to change careers into OTR trucking. I have been talking to a Central Refrigerated Services recruiter and waiting to hear back from him about starting school. Any insight and wisdom any of you have to share in regards to Central Refrigerated would be greatly appreciated. I am also new to this forum and going through the learning curve on how to use this forum. I also got an email from a CR England recruiter. I am not finding a lot of positive posts about them. Any thoughts that might help?

Hey man. I'm pretty new as well and I'm going to try to start school with Central in October. That's my goal, anyway, so I've been doing a TON of research over the past 6 months or so about everything, lol. I think I'd stay away from CR England also, just from a lot of the posts I've read & complaints strewn across the web. I don't really wana become a statistic with them, lol. Pretty trucks don't make a good employer. I'm sitting here reading my PDF version of my state's CDL manual, lol.

Yeah, I'm just hearing way too much negative and not enough positive about CR England. Although my sister-in-law drove for them about 4-5 years ago and she did have a mostly positive experience. My cousin drove for Central Refrigerated for a while but ended up being disgruntled and quit. But knowing him I don't think he was someone cut out for OTR trucking to begin with. There is a lot of negative comments all over this and other forums about any given company. But at least I also see a lot of positive comments about Central Refrigerated. I'm just anxious to get started. Wish I could hear back from my recruiter!
