I got confirmation last night from several drives that they did get paid. I have not checked my bank yet to see if I got paid.

Seems to me this proves what so many have said starting with laaylor way back, that Celadon was a genuinely decent outfit that played fair.
Universally when I read of companies folding it starts with the staff getting screwed then goes downhill from there, so when a company that practices what it preaches goes down it's a huge loss to our world, there aren't many of them.
So many people facing an uncertain short term future still saying good things about Celadon says it all, taking it all round this is a big loss to all of us.Infosaur, dancecanyon, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -
No one there wanted this to go down this way. Most of the folks responsible for setting up this failure are going to pay for it with fines and jail time.
While I generally approved of how business was handled in the last year, there were a few things I thought management could have done differently to keep the company going, but well, there goes hindsight being 20/20 again. To me the consultants that were brought in were a waste of time/money. But, as they had turned around a much larger company in the past, it was felt that they were very qualified to turn Celadon around. As it turns out, it was just an expense that they should not have taken on.
The freight market coupled with the costs are ultimately what killed Celadon though. Our maintenance costs were unbelievably high. That along with having to fill trucks with broker freight, things weren't sustainable. -
