yeah I thought about that today my husband turned his transponder in early last week and he is supposed to be mailed a new one but the fees were still on his check for last week and this week...

is your hubby a new guy?? sounds like maybe he is but anyhow here's whut i do with tolls (i drive for tmc also). ask him if he still has his quick reference handbook, if not you can pull this up on the driver connection. mines a little old so i just check out the driver connection from time to time and download the latest. Inside is something pretty cool you won't find anywhere else. they have several pages of toll rates for just about every bridge and tunnel there is. i've been around awhile so i pretty much know whut to expect for toll rates on my runs but i still take 15 minutes to tripplan my route and if i'm not sure about the tolls i'll look at the manual. sometimes rates change before they get a chance to updatethe manual but usually it's either right on or close anyway. then i call my fm and tell him how much advance i need and then work it out so i get my dough when i fuel so i don't have to pay any comdata fee. takes a little while to get a routine down but once you do it just becomes just a normal function of your day. far as ezpass goes i'd check out the other ezpass thread in this forum cuz i posted what i found out about ezpass deal. nothing sinister going on. just more of the usual paranoid hype some drivers freak out about. hope this helps him out some!

Where is that in the driver connection? Sounds like a useful tool I could get some use out of. My FM asks me all the time how much I need for tolls but I don't usually know and have to wait for him to look it up. Any idea what that quarter fee was about?

It starts on page 141 of the Driver Quick Reference Handbook under Policies and Forms.

I mean online, at the driver connection. I'm not sure if I even have the quick reference book anymore, there isn't really anything all that "quick" about it.
-
It's online in the drivers connection under the policies and forms tab, page 141.
cplmac2 Thanks this. -
Hm, I was told it hadn't been updated in several years. A lot of the northeast toll authorities have raised rates as recently as the beginning of this month, so don't plan by that reference too closely.
Do yourself a favor, if you have the time. Look up the bridges, toll roads and tunnels in your running area. Most, if not all, of them have toll calculators or printable reference guides on their websites. I bookmarked them in my blackberry, you can use a laptop or just update this guide.
You don't want to be short at the toll booth, and you -really- don't want to run an ezpass only lane without a valid transponder. Big fine, and guaranteed to get you an inspection, at least in NY/NJ.cplmac2 and riddlemethis Thank this. -
I looked up a few, just to compare and they were correct. I think it's a good idea to double check with the correct toll authority though. The links are also listed in the handbook.
