Did you clean out the DPF filter? If it is plugged, then the engine has too much back pressure and that will kill MPG.
-
Oh the dpf is cleaned out I’d say. Lol
-
Oh no. 5 MPG is all that I can expect? May have to sell my truck and buy something else. I read that the Series 60 is supposed to be one of the best engines for fuel economy so "enhancing" the EGR should make it great again.
What have you tried to do to get your fuel mileage up? Apparently, the intercooler leaking is a MPG killer, as well. -
Like I said. Have done everything. Complete in frame. Injectors. Harness. Turbo. Deleted. Tuned by diesel spec. A 14L will never ever get the fuel mileage a 12.7 will. And the ddec 6 is even worse. If you can sell, dump it. I wish I could.
-
They tuned it for power or fuel efficiency? Because both are different fuel curves.
-
For fuel mileage.

I’m beginning to think it’s derated. But no cel. Gonna try unhooking batteries overnight and see what happens. Also Jake power is down like 40%. They use to #### near put me through windshield. Now sound like a homo farting.
-
Did you have the injector height set? I read a lot of comments about the DDEC 6 getting 5 MPG but other people tell me 7-9 is normal. My truck is in the shop getting to the bottom of the bubbles in the coolant system. Either bad head gasket, cracked head or cracked liner.
-
If ANYONE says they’re getting 7-9 mpg US out of a ddec6, they’re full of poop. Show me fuel receipts and trip books for company’s requirements, or ifta reports to prove it. Or else it’s pure bs.
