670's only, they might still have a few company 780's floating around. However they are all being sent back in the next few months.

I noticed on your Profile it says trucker 5yrs?
Central are NOT hiring experienced drivers!
which really sucks but I guess they think they can make more of a student!
We have been with Central for almost 2yrs and yeah like every bigger company your a number not a name, We have our good weeks and some bad weeks!!
I personally have a problem with the school telling Newbies to accept every load even the short ones and you will get 2500-3000 miles a week!! Like you have a choice as a company driver it is forced dispatch!
Even as L/Os we had a weekend guy try force a load on JJ when he had to have his student back to WVC to upgrade.

I was a trucker in Ireland for 5 years, here in the US i am a wannabee so i guess i fit into the hireable category?

The Challenger Thanks this. -
does anyone know about or IF there is ANY communication between maintenance and dispatch, planners, dispatch, safety....dispatch!!! what a headache requesting assistance, or just plain doing a fair job of working WITH us this wknd when our trailer crapped out while loaded from friday. truth is we have had nothing but headaches and heartache with wknd dispatch, but come on ppl.....we should all be working together right??? we were just told that we should do a better job at PTA because of an issue since friday, and now we can't accept a load due to having to take a 10 hr b/4 we can p/u another load....y?....because of a maint/dispatch/planner miscommunication and failure to help us out with a simple fone call that would have saved this problem, much less this post......lord have mercy on my husband's blood pressure today because our friday nightmare is still playing!!!
-
Nope they don't communicate!!!
Weekend Dispatch SUCK, JJ just got 2 pre-sets which will give him a whopping wait for it 2200 mile week
He is going to accept them and have the appointment times adjusted (wish him luck with that) I am about to blow a fuse.

Rhino being an L/O has had plenty to contend with the payroll department. When he got his T2000 there was a problem (found out about a month later) with the AC condenser because of the hood pressing on it. Sooo they of course charged him for it. After being told they would cover the charges. It took a couple weeks to get these charges put back into his maintenance account. They took it out 4 MORE TIMES! It started out being 377.00 the last time (last week) they took out 700 plus! For the same thing! Rhino just told them put it back and get over it already! I will bring my truck and park it!! Rhino has an excellent FM. He helps him in anything and everything he needs done. That is the only way to make it with Central. If you don't have the gumption to stand up to them and a FM that will go to bat for you. It's totally not worth it. You will get screwed by a few departments.
-
Oh on a good note...Rhino's miles are great! He and his co driver are doing very well. They racked up 7,700 last week and that included pulling a 34 hr rest. So with the right FM things can be good. BUT you have to keep yours eyes and ears open at all times!
Just know when you are being played and play the player!

quick run-down....friday p/u at hersheys, pre-loaded, hooked, tried to move tandems forward....nope....tried n tried, then reset brakes...and locking pin wouldn't disengage. called shop, kept following instructions to fix to no avail....ran out of hrs. next a.m. brought trailer into shop, red-flagged by inspection bay. called dispatch (inspector told bob to have dm call to speed up process due to him being under a load) because of priority of load and there were 7 trailers ahead of ours. dispatch informed bob that he couldn't do anything about the wait. took 12 hrs b/4 we had our trailer enter the shop. mech came out after 1 hr and said he can grab the trailer in a bit.....so bob asked, "y wasn't he able to disengage the locking pin??" mech said "oh, good thing u mentioned that, i forgot to ck on it"...hmmmmm. after about another hour the mechanic tells bob that they need to transfer the load to another trailer...okay....finally!!! as they begin the process....almost another hour later....someone comes to the truck and tells bob (as we are sitting and watching them transfer the load over to the new trailer) that they...whoever THEY are....are going to transfer his load to another trailer....HELLLOOOO, i think we already figured that out. okay, as we continue to watch the transfer the Qcom beeps..." please ck your reefer temp, it shows a temp of 20 degrees"....i guess SOMEONE forgot to clue this guy in on the trailer change because he is picking up the broken trailer temp. now the fun stuff....seals have been broken to transfer the load so bob wants paperwork to back up the fact that he just didn't get hungry and the valid means of breaking that seal...after all, he's responsible for the load right?? so he calls dispatch for instructions.....bad idea....their reply "what are you talking about?" by that time i didn't know if bob's face was beet red from the sun we've been sitting in all day or if he was gonna bust a fuse. sooooooo, we get ready to hook up and the new msg...."just tape the seals that came off to the BL", duh....it still doesn't show anywhere on paper that we didn't get hungry and have a field day on chocolates. the next msg that came over the Qcomm put bob over the edge so i helped him with the reply..."old trlr #, this trlr is broken -- new trlr #, temp is 55 and everything works, leaving the yard, if i can help you with anything else let me know." okaaaaay, i was a little sarcastic with that last one BUT i could've told them exactly what i was thinking which was worse. now today, we get a msg on our next load....for one thing, p/u time is b4 our delivery for this load AND with the deadhead miles and the hrs that he's left with now we inform them on these 2 issues. they reply back with "he should do a better job with PTA, and we are making it hard for the planners to do their job".....i let them know, this exactly as sent on Qcomm, "i planned my trip properly--yesterday was a wrench in the plan when the trlr broke and both maint. and dispatch did not work with me to expedite" so, now we have been preset and we need to contact FM for load details.
if the Qcomm doesn't beep at us until tomorrow it'll make for the perfect ending.
OMG....i feel better already.
sorry for the lengthy post....that felt great tho'
