How many miles were you all getting a week?
Why did you drop it ? -
Hey- We weren't getting team runs very often. Our avg. was about 2,500 miles a week. In 10 months the most we ever had 4,600. That only came our way once.
We droped our trailer because we were on home time and the spot our sub-division has dedicated for trucks is about 1/2 mile from our house--so---we bobtailed home.
Then they (subdivision) got mad because we droped a trailer--- it makes no sense--but swift took the complaint and ran with it... said it was high-value--no lock...etc..NOT TRUE--- but who can argue with the almighty Swifty bosses. -
I really can't think of anything in the Swift book that is worse, other than at fault in fatal accident. What they will put on DAC, will probably be in the vicinity of abandonment of company property. High value loads do not go anywhere but Swift secured yards, or delivery...no exceptions. Even regular freight, you don't drop unattended even around the corner.
Not much hope on this one...sorry! -
2500 gee thats pretty bad , That the norm ?
Id get a copy of my DAC before I applied elswhere to see what your up against.getitgirl Thanks this. -
"High value loads do not go anywhere but Swift secured yards, or delivery...no exceptions. Even regular freight, you don't drop unattended even around the corner."
I am going to second this. Never ever drop a loaded trailer and leave it unattended. -
Hey relic'
The load was not High Value. I know the rules of High Value. Had to carry them enough times.....even though they were FED-EX or UPS and they were rush, JIT loads, not "actually" a high value load, but even then, we knew the rules.
This was just a regular ole load that ran by our house.
Our DM gave us hometime while we were on it.
I understand that perception is the key here.... but it was no-way, no-how, abandoned. We unhooked from the trailer to take the Bob-tail home to wash it.... like we did 8 other times,..
This time the security guard was apparently in a bad mood and called the # on the side of the trailer and reported it.
LIVE AND LEARN HUH???? -
Be careful out there and good luck finding work.getitgirl Thanks this. -
Here is a good rule of thumb. Always clear it with dispatch on dropping that way expecially on qualcom you have a record of authorized trl. drop. when you drop take pics of the securing devices so no one can say it wasnt locked. Good luck finding a new job with the way things are right now. There is a site that is highly recomended google trucker report and you will find it.
