Well I'm new here and I order the new cobra 29 with blue tooth with noaa weather.I also picked up a set of 4 ft whips. I have seen a few ppl say get 4ft mini. I got the firesticks with tune tips. Is a peak and tune worth it? How much should I pay(ball park). How to go about finding a good shop as well. I'm in malvern pa. There is one near me has anyone gone there before? 2 ppl that i know said its a good shop but just wanted to see if anyone else has gone there before. Thanks for all yr help I should have the radio by tuesday!

Sorry guys I can't post the link.

Take those FireSticks back where you got them, purchase a long stem Wilson 2k.
Then find a shop to bring it all together for you. -
Also a few more details would help
What is the radio going in (vehicle make, type etc)
Planned use of said radio ?
Do you travel ?
Several shops offer "mail-in" tuning service(you ship to them),some are actually pretty good as a "one stop shop"(buying radio's already tuned and shipped to you). -
Not sure where Malvern is but Bob's Cb shop up there in PA is pretty good. You can go in person or send it to him. Sparky's cb shack is who I use. Just google that name. Al does really good work there. As Friedtater said get rid of those firesticks and get yourself something like a wilson 2000 or several other much better antennas especially if your putting them on a big truck. Antenna is 95% of your setup whether it's good or bad is up to you.

Its going in my 2001 dodge ram 1500. Plans for the radio, To get good service out of it. Yes I travel I try to get away as much as I can. I will be going down to nc which is a large part of why I go it. Plus a brand new cobra with bluetooth and noaa shipped for 176 is a hard to beat deal.

I also like the dual whips they look much better I know they need to be placed VERY far a part to work correctly. I really don't like the other ones. Plus I'm using some stuff that I have laying around as well.
-
Don't see how you're gonna make them look good and work correctly in the width of a P/U truck. I suggest making one a Dummy. -
Ok, well I have some coax that I had laying around from when I was running them for the look. It has a 2 into 1 which is why I went dual whips. I was on cb radio mag (google) They head a topic for whip. They did say to just use a wilson over the dual whips. But the whips look so much better. So if I was to run dual whips how bad would it kill my singal?
-
If you insist on the looks of the duals just run a single coax to one of them and make the other one a dummy thats there just for the added looks. That will serve you much better than trying to actually co-phase them and use both.
