Come on frd... You run into folks like that regardless of what MB you might post on.

It's just the way it is.

But when you come off as calling people stupid for doing a job that they want to do (which IMO you have done)... it's gonna ruffle some feathers, especially when you go on to brag about how much you are making.

Trucking isn't for everyone. Some folks try it and decide it isn't for them. Others spend a lifetime doing it and enjoy it.

Life really isn't about how big one's paycheck is. There are other considerations.

 

And there is no way on God's green earth you make $3500 a week. Truck driving isn't all OTR. Look Triple Six, I was trying to keep this thread on topic but you and a couple others decided to turn it into a personal attack against me. <Name calling removed by Moderator>

 

No...Actually they don't! You could drive a concrete mixer for twenty years and be completely unable to drive an OTR truck. Your concrete mixer experience is not recognized by anyone as experience for the trucking industry.

Agreed! The primary reason that so many drivers leave the industry is because they were never really cut out for it anyway. A large percentage of the school graduate/newbie types fell for the nonsense that was spoon fed to them about how cool it would be and how much money they'd make! The fact of the matter is that trucking has never been a glamorous business. It has always been a LOT of work and never enough money. It has always been LONG HOURS and in years past it was a lot longer hours than it is today! There are plenty of unscrupulous companies out there that will take advantage of greenhorn drivers and wear them out. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY!!! The names have changed but the con is still the same. Most of the guys that I came up with got hosed at some point by some company...Some got out of the business and some learned the lessons and continued on to enjoy long careers in the industry.

Not so right here...It isn't the attitude that is the problem in my opinion. It's the same old song and dance that has always been. It has always been a bit of a transient industry and it has been easy for thieves like the Englands and their ilk to fleece the newcomers for all their worth. Sadly that's not going to change any time soon (if ever) So........As always it is up to the ones that are cut out for it and are sharp enough to see through the scams and stay clear of the thieves to do the real and necessary work that we need to do and that most of us love doing...The rest will fall by the wayside and rightfully so because they were never cut out for this business anyway!

 

You might want to rethink that. It's not unheard of for an O/O to gross that much. It may be rare, but hardly impossible.

 

In case you were wondering about my truck income, It's about $3500 to $4000 a week per truck! Gross! That's about a thousand a week for the driver.

That is at the present time with the rates as low as I've seen them in a long time! A year ago it was 1 1/2 to 2 times that!
