I said everything you just said. It applies to credit cards too....its the same mentality. People get desperate to look like they got it like that. Why would someone enter a LP because they're desperate? Well if Prime is coming at someone who is uneducated saying they can make 4000 or 5000 per week, why would that uneducated person not jump on it?

You got to let people learn from their mistakes.

What this guy is doing only says to everyone else is "Every time we do something stupid let's just get the government to fix it."

If they lie to you......charge you higher interest, etc...…..charge you for
extra things that were not in the original loan.....that yes, you can sue them.

That is the problem with trucking companies......with banks the loan
process is pretty much set in stone......trucking companies are notorious
    for "moving the goal posts".

I agree that many new drivers don't do their homework before signing
their life away.....but many of the companies are at fault too.

What you're saying is let companies continue coerce the uneducated into a bad decision. What this guy is doing is bringing attention to something that needs to be looked at closely. Why should someone be allowed to go into business for themselves with no money?

It is their choice, it is their life. You are not their parent, so why is it up to you to decide what they are allowed to do and allowed not to do?

I drive for Prime Inc as a company driver. When I was solo a 3,000 mile week was $1500, as a team a 6,000 mile week is $5000.

I know several lease operators (one who is now an owner operator) that make similar or better money leasing, and on less miles. But, you know, they actually run and get the job done.

What I don't understand is Prime's is a walk-away lease. If it's so bad why keep driving for them?

Lots of people go into business for themselves with no money and make it. The majority of trucking companies in this country started with one guy and one truck. I’m sorry you feel the government should be everyone’s babysitter.

Are they really choosing? Or are they lured? Why should companies be allowed to coerce uneducated people into this? I would have such a big problem with LP if there were ways to properly prepare drivers for getting into business. Not everyone gets the education at a young age. The ignorant aren't choosing. How can they make a choice when they dont know any better? My issue is companies targeting those people. They are trained to do this. Many companies push leases on inexperienced drivers, knowing that they dont even know the cost of operation. They need to at least make it a level playing field and educate these folks.

Because our government that is up to their ears in debt and can’t run anything efficiently knows what is best for all of us. We need a level playing field where there is no incentive to work and get ahead. We can’t have successful and unsuccessful people in this world. We all need to be the same level of mediocrity so nobody gets their feelings hurt.

Oh yeah? How many people go into business with no money and succeed in this day and age? The government needs to be a "babysitter." After having talks with many of you on here, and seeing what's been said, it wouldn't be a good thing to not have government. People cant be trusted, so that's why government is needed.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.
