No... we go where we need to. I can recall dropping a pallet at some guy's farm in PA. Sometimes you help some dude with a pallet jack they forklift into the trailer, just to get it done. Best freight is drop n' hook... drop the trailer, get your bills signed, and hook and empty - blammo! Your done!

Nashville? We go through there alot... see the Murfresboro area frequently. That's not very far from where you're at...

    justin30 Thanks this.

I already have my cdl. Got it on my own. Unemployed so got it through a WIA progrtam. Now I'm just waiting to get a job. Got approved thru swift but having a hard time getting into orientation. Been waiting 2 months now. Prime pays more in training than swift does, How does hometime work when you are training. Do they get a trainer that lives in the same arrea you do? or do you just go out for that whole time? if so what do you do when trainer has hometime?

    Thanks for info.

Better hurry if you are going to apply to Prime... Trainers were told last week that they were restricting hiring of the "no-experiance truck school graduates" to within 6 weeks of graduation...

word is you have to have 4-6 months experiance min. with someone else to be hired if you miss that 6 week period.

We are still hiring non-cdl holders for the PSD.

Just to agree with Ironpony on Prime's training. I'm in 3rd week on the road and can't imagine a better method. Of course much depends on your instructor/trainer. The skills necessary to obtain a CDL are not the same skills needed to operate a truck safely, efficiently, and profitably out here.

Is your guy keeping you for a trainee? I have an open slot now...

If he does keep you, its a smart move on his part. If not let me know. My FM asked me if I wanted another, I told him yes, but not until Im back in Springfield in 10 days to have my stitches out.

Some guys just like the instruction part of it all...

He wants me to, and I have been leaning that way. He's a 13 yr. vet (4 w/Prime) and has been great so far. However, I do see an advantage to getting another perspective. Scheduled to test out on the 17th so the timing is close.

Yoplait. US Cold Storage up in Antioch. Tyson over in Shelbyville. There's got to be a WallyWorld DC around there somewhere...

I've never had a problem with home time. Just give your FM enough rope to work with, and he'll get you there.
