The wife and I were just talking about how we should get a camera system, and she expressed that its sad that we even have to think about it.
Guy I work with has a set up where he gets notifications on his phone when someone rings his doorbell, and he can access the camera feeds from his phone. He lives close enough to work that he'll run home whenever a package that he knows is expensive gets delivered so he can put it inside.

Depending on how it's broken, clamping it to keep it straight will be the biggest hurdle. If you can clamp it, and still get to both sides of the break, that would be best. Groove each side a little over 1/4 of the way through and alternate weld passes from one side to the other. This way, you get some weld reinforcement on both sides.
I'd be interested to see the break.
You're on the right track with the cleaning. I use acetone and a dedicated stainless steel brush. Aluminum is the only thing that brush cleans.Feedman, RedForeman, blairandgretchen and 13 others Thank this. -
