All I have to say is they will take advantage of drivers on stuff like safety bonuses and idle time, how much worse is it going to get when they own all of you. This company is about one person doing well and one person only, and your not him. and yes I've been there.
I left there because I was doing a repower of a load to Denver, pulled into Albuquerque the T/A i think, dropped my trailer found the team I was trading with, before I hooked up to there trailer, while doing my pre-trip I found 2 tires (both had the correct color dot from being inspected) one had the tread missing, the other had a spike in the side wall, called and fought with some jerl I safety that wanted me to pull them anyway into a blizzrd going on between me and Denver.
I had a problem with the tires not the weather, dealing with the weather is what we do for a living. finally on the second day they replaced the tires, I returned the old tire to the Phoenix yard, they kept my safety bonus for replacing the bad tires. Next trip after the safety bonus being taken put me in the Mira Loma Yard, MT, Called dispatch told them I had a family Emergency, after I received the money they owed me, told them I would not be back.
Plus your going to get a tractor set at 61 mph, that had there great (thats a joke) service plan.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
I think trucker Steve was there for a while, and did some championship driving for them. But that was a while ago. It seems he just got far away from trucking as he could. But he had many reasons.

Neither of those answered my question lol
I’m company for them currently, and yes the new pay is ######## I agree for company guys, but I’ve been with the company for going on 3 years, and I have no interest in leaving. I may not make the biggest bucks, but I’m treated well, and I’m happy pulling for them.
The purpose of this thread was on their lease purchase program, not y’alls sob stories.
Sorry, not sorry. -
Well then you already know your answer. You're familiar with the company, already know it's culture and should have established relationships.
The only issue is the economics of operating a lease. That's a nuts and bolts business evaluation and has nothing to do with May. You should've run the numbers and they either shake out or they don't.
If you haven't or can't run the numbers at this point, then leasing isn't for you. When you are thinking of starting a business, the very first thing you do is punch the numbers ... Because if the numbers don't work, any additional effort is a waste of your time.Crazytrucker77 Thanks this. -
I don't have any specifics for you but there's a May O/O that parks in our yard when he takes home time. He's been with them for quite a few years and has paid off two trucks.
He says he's not getting rich but he's doing okay. -
Just one reply , If you like it great, but here attacking others just for stating the truth is not looked upon well, not a sob story simply the truth. Evert company has its good and bad just a matter of what you will take.

Another driver looking for validation on what they have already decided to do. If May is wonderful, great you have your answer, Motor on.
dunchues, 88 Alpha and Western flyer Thank this. -
l lease purchased two tractors (one at a time), paid off on time both times. May Trucking is fair and honest in their business dealings. They live up to the contract.
Eggroll'n Trucker Thanks this. -
Yes you may not get rich, but there are a few ppl who've successfully completed the L/p program. Also, the Pensacola terminal is the best! Lol
I had a great experience with them while I was there. Then the new pay scale started to roll out and dipped
