    1. What is Christmastime like for American truck drivers? Do you get the holidays off?

    2. Is it snowing where you are driving?

    3. Do modern rigs have a temperature gauge (a thermometer) to tell the driver how cold it is outside so as to warn them of freezing conditions? Ice on the roads troubles me.

Drivers with refrigerated trucking companies can run 365 days a year if they want to.

    1. Many drivers get home, but there are always some that run the holidays.

    2. Not snowing here in the south but if you are in the north you may well be. Snow and ice conditions are something that most will have to deal with at some point.

    3. Many trucks have a built in outside temp gauge and some have aftermarket gauges.

My 1979 Oldsmobile 98 had a factory temp gauge right on the driver side-view mirror. When it gets below 40, watch for ice!

My truck shows warning on dash when it close to freezing outside. When parked and sleeping the truck computers can start the engine to keep inside warm or cool in the summer. Truck can shift gears automatic, the truck can see traffic in front my truck and adjust the speed if they slow down. My truck still slow down(adaptive cruise control) truck can even apply the brakes is someone stops in front of me. So you don't rear-ended someone.
