I've said it once....I'll say it again. It's not every week a driver will see 3000 miles plus. There isn't a large number of solos seeing 3000 miles consistently weekly. The other drivers pretty much said it. Ups and downs. It dont matter what company you go to, some weeks are better than others. You gotta learn to battle through adversity.....and this is minor.

In my limited personal experience with salary based carriers, you will work longer hours and much harder for the same or less money as mileage pay. I did it once and only lasted 6 months. What I was told when I accepted the job was drop and hook only, same route every week and home every weekend. By the time I quit, I was driving 11+ hours a day on paper logs, working 3-5 additional hours loading and unloading my own trailer, and making multiple stop deliveries in heavy snow country every week, that I had to unload at the delivery location. F that.

 

I get hard to get along with if they expect me to run more than 2000 miles anyway. In fact I just reminded the boss this morning that 2000 was all I wanted. lol
